Roberto and his friends embarked on international trips to showcase and promote Indigenous music, culture, and traditions from their home country.
Our Story
The Journey of Our Craft: From Vision to Legacy
1993
1994
Roberto married Esthela in Ecuador. Together, they expanded their cultural mission, moving from music to the demonstration and sale of Indigenous handicrafts from their country. The newly married couple traveled to various parts of the world, including Europe and the United States, to present and sell their crafts. Roberto and Esthela began to create their own Indigenous handicrafts and actively participated in art and crafts festivals and powwows.
2002
Roberto and Esthela decided to move to Colorado. It was in this new home that the name for their business was born and officially established: Daky Native Treasure.
2007
The business took a major step by establishing its first official store inside a mall, specifically at the Aurora Mall.
2007-2012
The Daky Native Treasure business experienced steady growth after opening its first mall location. The focus broadened to include participation in increasingly larger festivals and shows with greater reach, including events outside of the state of Colorado.
2012-2025
The business began its relationship with The Citadel Mall in Colorado Springs, initially operating through temporary, seasonal locations. The participation at The Citadel Mall was formalized, and Daky Native Treasure established a permanent presence at that shopping center for the past three years.
